Exactly as described and very easy to assemble. We chose this gate so it was easier to attend our log burner with it having a gate. There are attachments to fix to the wall but we've left ours free standing ands it's fine. It looks quite good quality and polite well with our black granite hearth.

We needed a guard for our granddaughter who is now on the move. Our wood burner in our snug is quite small and this was the only fireguard that fitted our small hearth perfectly and safely. As we intend moving house next year this fireguard is perfect for adding extensions for a possibly bigger opening so makes it reusable and excellent value for money. Only downside is the plastic fixings for the wall. As this will be for occasional use we are not keen to have these in permanent position so will be looking for something less intrusive but still making it safe.

Very nice modern fireguard. Have not lite my log burner yet but I do have concerns firstly the instructions were not very good. It comes with 4 panels the same but with different end fixing plus a gate all the instructions were the same so if you can master MFI you will be fine. My other concern is the size we wanted to fit around our hearth was 33cms from wall which fits lovely but as this is at grannies house and not being used every day I would not leave a child/toddler alone in the room with this guard as it is quite close to the logburner and I can tell you I can get my hand through the bars very easily and touch the fire with little effort. I am pretty sure that these bars are going to get very hot not hot enough to scald but hot. If it was a permanent feature I would recommend getting it to fit further off the wall or buy the horrible mesh caged one.

Solves the problem of an inquisitive child and hot fire well. Easy to install on our brick fire place but does require 8 screws (4 each side) so will affect cosmetic look of fire surround when eventually taken down. Slight movement/wobble side to side but not forward/back towards fireplace. Had to put ours closer to log burner than recommended due to room size constraints but at 55cm ours gets warm but not hot. Certainly better than no guard at all and everything I looked at required similar distance from fireplace. Happy customer.

This is a sturdy and easy to fit fire guard that does a fantastic job! My little one now uses the bars on the fire guard to pull herself to her feet and stand and bounce! Brilliant product, deffo worthwhile

Wall fixings a must for sturdiness. Well made with no sharp edges. A good buy.

Excellent time. Fits around fireplace nicely and withstands the heat well. Opening mechanism for the gate would be fiddly if trying one handed but it stops the kids going near the fireplace. Brackets to the wall needed a bit of persuasion to fit properly, so screws had to be loosed off, but doesn’t seem to have affected the item holding to the wall.
