A good purchase!
Arrived promptly, in good condition, nice paperback copies. A good purchase. Its probably worth noting that there are more Miss Marple books than this collection. When I bought them I think they were on offer and found it was cheaper to by books 1-10 in a collection and then the rest in a separate collection.Happy Reading!

Great but incomplete set of Marple novels
This is a great set of books for any Christie fan who hasn’t read any Miss Marple stories yet. It’s not a complete set because four are missing. If you want to read them in the order they were published then you’ll need to get The Thirteen Problems, which are short stories that came out after The Murder At The Vicarage in 1932.Oddly, the set includes Sleeping Murder, which was her last appearance and published in 1976 so consider buying the other missing titles before reading that one.

Queen of crime
Agatha has always been a little under rated as a crime writer and that is incredibly sad.She is often wrongly and poorly compared to modern crime writers, who without Agatha and her contemporarys blazing their trails would not be half as good. They started everyone's passion for crime and murder to begin with.Agatha was the first or one of the first woman to do so!Her critics don't think she gives away enough clues to the reader to solve the crimes ourselves? But Agatha plays with what is known, the people we trust., our preconceptions? The clues are all there in the pages. But it couldn't be the Doctor?, the Lawyer?, the nurse?, the man of the cloth?, because they are respected people??We subconsciously rule then out as the reader. What Agatha does is say these are just people. Normal people who could and would kill. They are like everyone else, not to be too respected. That power is nothing. A person held in high esteem/status in society is the same as the lowly shop assistant when you're looking for suspects...She's the first to try and say anyone could be the killer. This is some what mirroring modern day. Some of our politicians seem to think their status gives them a right to be above the law, that the law/rules dont apply to them...I'm sure Agatha would have had a field day writing her crime novels to include such people..Although now I think these people are seen more in their true colours than in Agathas day.
