Handy to Have.
This is cute and practical for the woman who do not want everyone to see their behind at the hospital. I could not wear this during my labor because I needed epidural access and during labor I really didn't care about covering up because everyone is looking at you. After labor when my dignity returned, I did wear this as it was easy to get up and go to the bathroom without being exposed.

Not appropriate for maternity patients + bad customer service
I ordered 2 of these gowns because-- like many women-- I find traditional hospital gowns revealing and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, CYA's gowns are not any better. Though described as a "maternity and delivery" gown, the gown isn't designed to tie over a pregnant stomach. When taken out of the package the gown looks like a kimono, but the sides aren't stitched together-- so when you put it on, it gaps from the bottom of the gown up through the waist, providing less coverage than a traditional hospital gown (!). (When I tried mine on it stuck out over my stomach, providing a clear sight line from one side of my body to the other-- revealing everything beneath the gown.) Have contacted CYA Gowns to return but they've not responded to my request for a return authorization, so I'm adding "poor customer service" to my "poor product" review. All around, 0 stars.

-( Cute though and more comfortable than the hospital gowns
Sides were always showing my underwear or bra, and it was difficult to get back on after nursing :-( Cute though and more comfortable than the hospital gowns! Would wear it again... Maybe a bigger size?

Excellent Gown in many ways
My daughter pregnant found online maternity gowns, fashion forward made gowns sold on many sites, they to come in an array of prints, big bows, a tad of glam to add to a mothers birthing experience. She to send me a link to one site, her to be very interested and excited of her find. Cost per gown varying from 30-90.00 as I did my own research. My daughter to inform me the gowns she was to put on, as she was hospitalized for dehydration were the size of king bed sheets. Falling off her body, compromising her walking with an I.V. pole, along with her dignity. I wanted to surprise her with a gown, sending it to her house. As she informed me of the serious malfunctions within the gowns provided to her, via the hospital maternity ward.I spent much time comparing the gowns, as they are sold upon many sites. Many independent sellers, who are making them, your choice of fabric, choice of bow, colors, prints galore. My first concerns physician/nurse access to my daughter/her baby as well as her personal fit, comfort. My daughters voice ringing in my ear as I researched these gowns, I want to lay my baby upon my chest, skin on skin contact upon her birth. I then began focusing on the construction of these gowns. If they offered semi access or full access to a woman's chest at her control. I looking at where the placement was of Snaps, Velcro, if there was any to begin with, as each I found are created unique, upon different designs/designers. The options endless, they all very stylish, cute, fun, irregardless I was not struck by any one gown, that I would commit to purchasing for my daughter. They to me, fancy yes and constrictive. Recalling my 23 hours of hard labor, the Bow to be tied upon these gowns would have lasted 10mins, thrown across the room. How I found Privacy Preferred gowns on Amazon, I do not remember. I used every search chase word I could think of to view maternity gowns sold here on Amazon. PPH came up within one of my countless attempts by mishap. I clicked on their gown, immediately I was intrigued. As I have been a patient in hospitals, having repeat surgeries myself, call me a unfortunate pro being the wearer of hospital gowns. I searched online for their website, as I wanted more information. Were these gowns made in the US? as the cost per gown threw me, 14.99!? were they sold to hospitals? single use, washable, etc, my unknown. After spending over an hour viewing "glam gowns hand made, your choice" priced from 30.00 - 90.00 each, the 14.99 lifted my eyebrow, me thinking possibly they were made of disposable material, one time use. NO, not so, they made of quality material, washable, for longevity. My brain on fire, my daughter to want the BIG Bow, the cheeky cute gown, her not to know PPH gowns existed, as I didn't either. I went ahead and purchased the PPH gown, size Medium, the bright turquoise print as you see it here.As I wanted it to be a surprise gift sent to her, I could not hold it in. Why? because I found on YT a video from a news site, that the woman (medical professional herself) who created these gowns was interviewed. She in her home, she to use her son as her model. She to have him put on the gown, showing how the gown was full access to the human body to medical pros (even in an ER situation) keeping all privacy dignity intact.I sent my daughter the YT video, as I informed her, your PPH gown is in the mail, on it's way to you. The YT Video is on the YT Channel: CYAHOSPITALGOWNS, uploaded on Feb 18, 2013. She was so excited, she waited with anticipation, she received it. She to watch the video on how to put it on, prepared her. She took it from box, to try it on. She to call me, MOM this gown is the BEST EVER! It was so easy to put on, it's comfortable, and it doesn't smother me, it's adjustable, I can reach every part of the gown myself, I need no ones assistance! and all my privates are covered! what a concept! She 5'2, 9 mos pg at near 150lbs. The gown was for her to adjust, as it is made. She admitted in the hospital for the birth of her baby, I got to see the gown myself- 5 stars, not one complaint out of me, as I saw my daughter was more than satisfied, her expectations more than met. She, yes, viewed as fashionable, more importantly she was relieved of the misery of wearing, having to makeshift herself, to cover herself, that she didn't have to wear a king sized bed sheet, hospital provided gown. Her Nurse in the room, I to ask my daughter how does the gown feel, as she was hooked to monitors, not able to get up. She to say, I love it, I so love it. My daughter to pull down the front within seconds, and reapply it back to herself, she to find it beyond easy. Her nurse to say to me, I have never seen a gown like this, it is very impressive, I would like to see it available in our hospital. There you go, Patient Happy, and Nurse approved. Who needs a Bow, when you can have it both ways: Your personal comforts met, your hiney covered, no tickets to sell, no free shows. The hospital staff to not only approve it, yet to wish it a standard.*For those who ask of the fabric, Size M, it has structure, the material is not flimsy, not see through, it is trimmed with navy piping around the neckline. It's soft to the touch. The print is cheery, it's unisex, the colors are turquoise, navy and white within the print. Watch the video on YT (as I mentioned above) as you will see it shown, this exact gown. I purchased brightly colored footie anklets for my daughter, put them on her feet, all the fashion that was needed, the colors to be Happy. Her reactions, her saids to me, MOM, I am so glad you bought this gown, instead of the fancy ones I found, they hooked me up to the monitors 2 hours ago, I was thinking of that BIG Bow. To have that big bow, tied under my breasts for " show", very cute not very practical. If I were to be wearing it, it would have been torn off and thrown to wall by now, as I am not able to get up, move around. I believe it would be irritating, a distraction, and most of all blocking my view of my baby, my belly, nor more needed to be said. She got her wish, her daughter born, she was able to pull the gown herself, lay her daughter upon her skin, the fabric not to touch baby, as she wanted it. Her to be able to breast feed, she to be able to control the gown herself, how far it opened, one side closed, her choice, not the the gowns. Good Job Carleen Egbert ! who is she? she invented the gown, watch the YT, she interviewed. YT channel: "Cyahospitalgowns" Titled: The Future of Hospital Gowns.Oh how I wish I would have been provided one of your gowns in my past. Knock on Wood, I will never be impatient ever again, I served my tour, 12 operations in ten years, 16 yrs surgery free, I believe I won ;) Hope so.

Seems great
I bought this as a gift. It does come brand new. I liked it because it offers privacy as well as the options at the top around the shoulder to be opened and closed for tubing that is required or if necessary. Great for someone who is inpatient and may need to go around and about in the hospital. I can't offer help on the fit, but I can say, with the ties, there shouldn't be an issue if you buy the right size needed. Material feels like scrubs material and seems like it will soften in the wash. I'm not certain if this one has been pretreated like the scrubs nurses wear, but for the price tho, I would definitely recommend this purchase. Hope this seller offers more colors eventually. Hope that helps
