Great quality per price
Great value per price when compared to more expensive melamine sets. The tiles are made from thick cardboard. This set is easy to modify to Chinese Mahjong by removing bonus tiles and jokers.Set contains:Land animals (Bamboos) 1-9Sea Animals (dots) 1-9Flight Animals (numbers/characters) 1-9,Shells and Corals (flowers and seasons)x8Stones (dragons-white, red, and green stones)Feathers (NEWS/winds)Slugs (jokers)Player seating directional tiles2 diceblank extra tiles8 cardboard-punch racksInstruction manualOverall, the set as a whole is well made, vibrant, and easy to read. I highly recommend Animal Mahjong as a good quality alternative tile set for any Chinese/American Mahjong player that is on a budget. The only negative is that the tile racks are made from cardboard. The racks are a little flimsy but it is not too much of a fuss.Pros:Easy to read large tilesGood/vibrant artworkGood value/price when compared to melamine sets.Thick cardboard tiles.Lightweight easy to carry set.Can play Chinese and American variants.Cons:Flimsy cardboard racks

Absolutely Beautiful!
I can’t believe this hasn’t won an award for design and artwork! Every aspect of it is delightful. The vibrant colors and patterns and animal portraits - a well made game of quality. I didn’t even want to throw away the scraps after punching out the pieces. Going to look for a better video of how to play.

Beautiful design but may not be worth it.
The media could not be loaded. The designs are gorgeous but for the price, I believe getting a real tile set maybe worth it. This set is made entirely of cardboard so will not last as long with a lot of use. When setting up the walls, it was harder because the cardboard tiles were so thin. I have a actual tile set that I purchased for 10 $ more.

Awesome
Bought as a Christmas gift for teen daughter. We love playing this game. We usually get all our kids a game for Christmas but this is the one that will stay out. Everyone has fun. Even my 8 y/o loves it. Pictures are great. Tiles are thick cardboard that should last for years. I have never played Mah jong so I’m not sure if the rules are the same but this is a great game.

Beautiful artwork, fabulous quality. Makes a lovely gift.
This game can be made simple or more complicated, and therefore is great for families with kids.Use it to play a matching game, or learning sequencing, or play traditional Mah-Jong rules. The booklet has the names of the animals and a short description, making another learning experience. The tile cards are sturdy. Just be sure you don't lose any when it's time to put it away!

Good idea, poor design.
I like the concept and idea for kids. The illustrations are lovely. However, terrible product design. Takes ages to set up the cardboard tiles, and assemble the wall and the racks tip over all the time. It’s all quite flimsy. We play traditional mahjong at home so I guess we are used to the harder tiles.

Rules of game not well explained.
I bought this game to play with my grandkids and I am starting ti play mahjong also. So this game is very similar to the regular mahjong that has a lot of rules and becomes very confusing. I thought this game would be simplified to play with my 6 and 9 year old grandkids. It’s very difficult even for me. So I made up my own game and rules do we could play better. The tiles are lovely and the stand also buy difficult to find the right way to put it.

Confusing game with poor instructions.
This game is challenging to say the list but I think it’s the poorly written instructions. Had this gift been for non game players I’d have question the players. But it wasn’t; the company needs to make the instructions for a novice to Mah Jong.
