Works exactly as described
I received my adapter in a very timely fashion. It works exactly as described....I am able to listen to the music on my iPhone 8 in the car using a standard cord with a "male connector" plug on each end (one connects to the "female port" in my car and the other into the round audio port on the adapter ) while also charging my phone simultaneously. Although clearly stated in the description, I remain disappointed that none of the adapters I found work with phone calls. Even though I can listen to the music on my phone through my car speakers, I can no longer listen to someone talking to me on a voice or video call. So, if I'm using the adapter as described above, and I get a call, I have to unplug the adapter, dig into my purse for my hands free and/or my wired headphones, which I then have to fumble around to plug in. I suppose I could just ignore the call but it's a long commute ;) It's just a pain in the @$$. This is my biggest gripe with iPhone getting rid of the standard audio port. As a person with an hour commute each way to work, this is a function I used often. Anyway, that's the only reason for the 4 stars and not 5....it's just not "perfect" for me but it most certainly works well for the functions it describes.

More than just the adapter
The packaging the adapter came in was amazing. Instead of only providing the adapter itself, everything you needed to get it working if you have any problems is also provided, including a thorough manual, which was a welcome surprise.
