Functional but don't expect high quality
They do what they say, but they are not really precise tools. The metal is stamped with rough edges. They come slathered in oil. Action is acceptable but on the crude side. For the price it's acceptable to me but if you are looking for smooth, high quality items, you should look elsewhere.

Highly recommend (mechanical insulation)
Very rigid, did not slip apart too easily while trying to measure. Great for large circles or outside diameter to big for regular pipe calipers or too big to be accurately measured by a tape measure

Poor quality to match the cheap price
I was really excited to receive these small calipers as a gift for my birthday 12/17. I occasionally get commissions to make ceramics on the wheel and thought they would be perfect for creating mugs and small bowls with consistent dimensions.... boy was I wrong :/ .... I started throwing a set of 8 mugs 3 hours ago and they went from a sleek silver steel color to rusty brass. I'm really grateful to have received calipers as a gift, it was really quite thoughtful. However, the poor quality of these calipers is inexcusable... could have at least put some kind of protective paint on them. +10 for as a thoughtful gift, -1 for durability and quality
