Sample Kits Are Worth It!!!!
I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when this arrived. I had purchased the sample kit and fell for the Mary Soul. I used my coupon that came with my kit and I'm so glad I did. Smells so good! Patchouli is normally very strong for me but cutting it with raspberry makes it so smell so inviting.I let my mother try the samples and she loved the Empress Wu. Too floral for me but perfect for her! I got her the travel size Empress Wu and she us beyond thrilled!Loved supporting this company! Love their message! Love their fragrances!

Not overly impressed.
I was a bit disappointed with the scent. Was a bit like what my grandmother would have worn. I don't think I'd use it at all unfortunately.

Fragrant, Without Hitting You Over The Head With It
This Queendom Perfume Mary Soul For Women- Chypre Fruity Fragrance, 100 ml Eau De Parfum Spray Bottle, I don't know what Chypre is, but this scent is Patchouli & Raspberry. Patchouli can be a very overpowering scent, which in the past has left me with a headache, or breathing issues, but this mixture of Patchouli & Raspberry is very fragrant, without being overwhelming. Maybe it's the Raspberry that helps to temper the Patchouli? Together, the scent is a little sweet, without being too sweet. The fact that I keep smelling my wrist means I like this scent.I LOVE on the front of the box it says Be You Not Them. Easier said than done sometimes, especially when you are surrounded by people who don't respect differences, who think their way of thinking is the only way to think, who think different is bad, but to me different is just different. Some people are a lot more narrowminded than others, but in the end no matter what you do, you can't please everyone, so you might as well just be your authentic self is my feeling. It's easy to just go along, but truth is very important to me.Also on the box: No One Is You, And That Is Your Power. Empower Women, as a women I fully and truly believe in this. This Perfume is Made In Spain.

Cringeworthy marketing and cheap perfume
The co-opting of feminism as a marketing theme for this overpriced perfume is absolutely repulsive. Invented "new female role models" are not needed when there are so many actual female role models to choose from and these are all very twentieth century rather than new, anyway. The invented women that these Queendom perfumes are supposedly inspired by are cringeworthy stereotypes even ignoring the particularly offensive racial aspects of "Empress Wu" and "Mary Soul". The illustrations are amateurish stereotypes as well. Ugh.As far as the perfume itself, this "Mary Soul" version is supposed to be a "chypre fruity scent made of a minimalist woody smoky heart of patchouli and explosion of red berries." It starts off with a blast of synthetic raspberry that smells like a powdered drink mix. Then a switch flips and there's a blast of patchouli and tobacco. After a while they do reach a sort of standoff in which neither mode predominates. There are some weak generic citrus notes that attempt to emerge from the cloud of those three notes but they are unsuccessful. Overall, the scent is very artificial and poorly blended. The packaging would imply that it's for young teens but it is much too musky and mature to be suitable for them after that initial raspberry. If my comments seem harsh, it's because this is an eau de parfum from a traditional fragrance house and the price reflects that while everything else about it screams $10 buy-one-get-one-free body spray from the teen shop at the mall, except that the teen shop at the mall wouldn't use such shallow and offensive marketing.Oh, it also gave me a headache, so anyone who is sensitive to fragrances, teen or adult, should avoid it for that reason alone.

Not for me
Not a fan of this scent. A chypre is supposed to be a scent with citrus top notes -the stuff you smell when you first spray it on- and oakmoss in the base. There is no oakmoss in this scent; it's base is patchouli, and something else I can't identify. The top note- and middle note- is raspberry ketone, which smells like cheap flavoring in soda or candy. The first blast is pure berry, and then it settles down- to more berry, but not as strong. It's some time before it starts to die off and the base notes come in. The raspberry is still evident, even hours into the scent. I find it cheap smelling, rather like something a store would use to "freshen" the air in the public bathroom. It lasts forever; still distinct on my skin hours later, and on my shirt the next day! Also, the Queen of Soul is Aretha Franklin. Nothing against Mary Wells- she's great- but, well, some things just ARE.

Light and wonder scent
I love this smell!! It’s light and not overwhelming!!! It’s similar to a light mist. I’m going to try the other scents too!

A little goes a long way.
Not sure this perfume does Mary Wells justice. I find the fragrance to be not that appealing and can be quite strong & lingering. This may be more of something a tween with a cold may enjoy but as an adult I really don't care for this fragrance. I guess the cheap looking label on the bottle should have been a dead give away. The bottle is pretty & the cap & spray works just fine. I just wish what came out was a more pleasing scent to me.

Smells nice
I like the scent, it is quite subtle and gentle. Perhaps a side effect of this is that it doesn’t last for very long (it is advertised as long lasting, what counts as long lasting?). The bottle is pretty bland, but I like the snazzy pink color :)Overall happy with it, but I wouldn’t buy it on my own.
