CMX N Scale Brass Clean Machine Track Cleaning Car

I had to run a push-pull setup to make sure this bad boy cleared switches and made it around curves due to its weight. The amount of grime lifted off of essentially brand new track (all less than 1 year old in a very clean, non-smoking home) blew my mind.Trains run 100x better after cleaning. I fully plan to take this out on the main before every operating session from now on.

I bought the CMX Clean Machine after reading positive reviews and because my layout has track that is hard to reach. The track cleaning car approach is really essential for me.This car works exactly as advertised and it is solidly made. I have had mine for over 5 years now and it is still in good working condition. I also recommend the Aero-Car Hobbies track cleaner in the picture to use with the CMX Clean Machine.

What a great accessory for my track...I have lots of tunnels including a helix so need something that will go there...works well and nothing else can really do that job...I use lacquer thinner...only issue was the fact that it is SO heavy - had to use three low-speed power switchers in order to get it around the layout...

This cleaning tanker is heavy, heavier than the Tomix car that I got before it. Haven't yet tried it out but I know my small locomotives will not work with it because of the weight. Will need a powerful locomotive to move this car. What I plan to do is have this car and the Tomix car working in concert.

For the price paid, this product did not function as expected. The 'N' scale unit is hard to keep attached to the power unit and due to its weight as issues navigating over switching rails causing it to derail.

BOTH COUPLERS WERE BROKEN AND ONE TRUCK WAS BROKEN. THIS WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF $184.
